Self Help Question And Answer

I live single with self-cooking. Please help me with some cooking shortcuts and tips.?

I am forced into it, as I don’t like unhygienic hotel food. I lack in experience and I suffer like anything for want of ideas, tips and shortcuts. Please help me out. It will also be good to many others in the same pitch too. Can you suggest a good website to refer to on this. Thank you.

Search the internet for "cooking for one" or buy a cookbook that has meals for one. I would cook a batch of easy stuff and freeze it into single servings so I didn't have to cook every day. Just add a salad or veggies to the meal and that's it. A nice homecooked meal in minutes.
You do not provide many details. Are you in the city, suburbs, or country? What country? What appliances to you have available? What sort of foods do you prefer? Are you a vegetarian, diabetic, or have other restrictions? Do you live in a hotel? (You refer to hotel food.) 1. Find a location near you that has fresh produce at a good price. Buy fresh fruits and veggies every two or three days. And eat them! 2. Get online and read lots of recipes. I like allrecipes.com. Try some that sound appealing. Keep the ones that turn out well. 3. Cook in batches so you do not need to spend an hour cooking each night. A roast or a lasagne over the weekend will keep you well prepared for most of the week.
you don't say where you are living and cooking. i will assume that you're in a hotel a lot. there are many really easy things to make that are either frozen or canned. canned (soup, veggies, fruits) can just be opened. frozen things include complete meals, casseroles, sandwiches, PIZZA, bread dough, POT PIES. in the dairy isle, there is milk and milk products (yogurt, cottage cheese, EGGS, cookie dough, all kinds of bagles and cheese. there are many cookbooks for non-cooks. get one with few ingredients and many pictures. some deal with people who doon't have a clue. i'm sure you can google something about whatever equipment you have or a special ingredent you want to use. one doesn't have to be a good cook. just know how a can opener works and how a microwave works (microwave will pay for itself almost immediately), even if that means using a portable one. you can cook with a very limited number of utensiles, a good knife, pyrex sauce pans to cook in and eat out of, a couple of insulated mugs, veggie peeler, and some forks and spoons.
try foodnetwork.com
Check out the food network website, there are many different Chef's and styles of cooking.
I'd suggest watching a food network if you can. You may not end up cooking the style the chefs on there do but it will give you some guidelines at least. Do you have friends who cook? Hanging around them and just observing how they do it can help. I learned just by watching what my mother and other ladies did. From there I took it in my own direction in the way I wanted to cook. Find a basic cookbook, get some ingredients and just dive in and do it. Don't worry if you don't start out being the greatest cook either. I had some disasters in the beginning (and sometimes still do).
