how effective is horse riding for keeping fit?

ok i have a pretty fast metabolic weight and i used to do about an hour's horse riding- like training and stuff- a day and i would eat about 1500 calories a day .....is this ok?

I ride alot, too, and the actual riding isn't the best excercise. The best way to get tons of extra excercise around the barn is leading children on ponies, cleaning stalls, and grooming horses at my barn.
horse riding is ok for keeping fit.. its not the best considering the horse is doing the work and not you.. and 1500 calories is rather low.. depending on ur weight and height and age is how many calories you should comsumed based off how active you are
mucking stalls and throwing hay( on a regular to daily) bais seems to work some. But you can also go to amazon.com and fins a book that is dedicated t oequine riders who wnat to stay fit and it has all these stratchs and workout. ItREAlLY works!
