Starting in September, I will try to lose a lot of weight. I am female, 5'8" and 230 with a large frame. I want to be at 120 by next year. Any comments mocking me won't affect me. I've been ridiculed for years by people offline; some jabs from people online won't send me into tears.
Thanks for positive answers so far.
"I'm wondering how you came up with the goal weight of 120. I am 5'4" with a medium build and while I am over my ideal weight right now at 130, I start to look too skinny once hit 120. Have you checked your BMI to make sure that 120 is a realistic target for you considering your height?" Hmm good question. I guess it has just always been my ideal weight, even before I sprouted up to 5'8". I know it is rather low. I guess 120 is the number that makes me most happy. Haha, I have issues.
This question goes out to all men and women of different races, ages, height and weight. Thanks for your input.
I will be off my diet soon, but I dont want to gain all the weight back that i lost.I also want to enjoy life you know?like sorta eat whatever i want but in moderation. How can i do that? Are there any websites that tell you?like getting one of those 100 calories snacks or something? How often should I exersise?I dont want to gain the weight but still be happy you know?
thank you soo much for yur time.
ok John.
You're saying if I have nothing better to do? Why are you responding to the question then?!
I'm doing for my assignment at college, I don't just go around asking these questions for fun? But you obviously answer them for fun!
What kinds of exercise can you do inside and out. Also what foods should I eat?If you have any different ways to prepare the foods!
i'm trying to find out if food and nutrition alone can promise a healthy body/lifestyle for a person.
i don't have a book with me due to my "BUSY" schedules and i have "no" free time.
so i was wondering if anyone can help me with my book report about healthy lifestyle.
I've found that the moment I get home from work, I get too relaxed and don't want to go back out. So I've started bringing my gym clothes with me to work so I have no reason to go home and I go staight to the gym instead.
Have you found anything that keeps you motivated when it comes to healthy eating and staying active that you can share with me?
What I'm asking is, if I do a 2mile walk every day, and eat healthilly, will I have to do any other excersize, to get healthy etc?
I want to start eating more healthy, and hopefully loose a little weight in the process.
No fast food, soda, candy, or chocolate or obvious bad food.
I know chicken, yogurt, water, fresh or frozen vegis are good for you, but what else?
I need meal ideas for breakfast, lunch, and dinner - can you help me out alittle?
So, for breakfast I eat some sweet buns from a bakery. Its usually just bbq sauce with pork or some slightly sweet yellow egg filling. I tried cutting the buns out but when I do, my work out becomes alot more harder and I feel so weak at the end. I eat healthy for all my other meals. I do alot of pushups, situps, dumbell curls and run like 5 miles a day.
I use to hate the way I looked because I was kind of chubby , so I decided to start eating healthier and exercising, but that only lead to anorexia because it felt so good to see changes. However, I am a little underweight (5'5" and 112 pounds), so I am thinking about gaining a little weight because sometimes I feel too skinny. I want to continue eating healthy, but I also want to BE healthy. What can I do to be healthy now, but also be healthy for life? (I'm 15).
Thanks for all your help, and please no rude answers. =]
I'm not trying to lose weight. I'm trying to gain weight to be healthy.
I know beef and pork a probably bad for you. Also probably most of the vegetables and fruits you get at the market aren't fresh (not long ago, where I live they were finding e. coli in the spinach). Also I'm sure half these foods are sprayed with unhealthy chemicals and preservatives - especially box and can food, but vegetables, too, with fertilizers, grown from contaminated soils, genetically enhanced cows' dung. There's a lot to consider.
What are some things someone can do to find good, pure food, and healthy food?
I have the normal things like crackers, bread, peanut butter, all the little things and sauces, but what is a simple snack that's quick and easy but just oh so delicious, but not something that would totally blow the purpose of a healthy diet?
I'm wondering because I'm starving and I don't want to eat any more cookies. I am trying to find a healthy snack besides traditional carrots and pretzels and stuff. Thanks alot!
He has just had a painfull wake up call. Was put in hospital with heart trouble last week. Doctors told him he is pre diabetic and he won't make it to 50 if he doesn't change his habits. He is 38 and very overweight. He went home determined to exercise, lose weight and eat healthy food. What things can I say, to help him get through the tough times?
I should be thinking more of my health then my cravings. I don't eat healthy at all. Pretty much anything that goes in my mouth has to be deep fried and smothered in ranch dressing. I don't drink soda, but the fact that I eat so poorly really makes up for that. Can someone give me a list of groceries? Foods that are good + good for you.
I don't have a weight problem, but at the rate I'm going I will 10 years up the road.
What do you do to stay fit and live a healthy life?
How old is your child?
What food do you include in their diet?
Do you give treats, and how often?
What exercise do you encourage your child to do?
What's your favourite activity to do with your child?
Anything else you want to add about how you are making sure your child gets a healthy start in life?
My boyfriend never has time to cook and has nothing in his pantry or fridge, so he's always eating junk food on the go- I want to take him grocery shopping to help him stock his place with the essentials for quick easy and healthy meals- what would you consider to be the essentials for a well stocked pantry fridge and freezer?
I have tried numerous times to eat healthily but i find it so hard to stick to a healthy plan. I am quite fussy and I wondered if any of you have good ways of resisting quick and convinient junk food.
I really just have no idea on how to improve my eating habits to improve my overall lifestyle and energy and health. I have starting exercising, but until now I've just had a very high metabolism so I eath anything in sight...but it's starting to catch up with me and I need some advice on what kinds of things to eat and how to exercise. Thanks.
All great information, thanks! So what does all this translate to exactly.. like for a dinner it could be say, a lean chicken breast, maybe some broccoli, and rice? and breakfast maybe a hard boiled egg? things along those lines? maybe i should go to a dietician to figure out a plan for my particular body?
A healthy person...
1. What time do they sleep, how much sleep do they get...
2. What's their diet? Describe the nutrients if possible.
3. How often do they exercise, and what do they do to exercise?
4. Describe anything else you think that will help me understand the concept of being healthy, or tips. Thanks.
I have a PE (physical education) assignment and I am having problems with it. I need to know at least four negative things about having a healthy lifestyle. I already came up with one which is having life long injuries.
PLS HELP
Thanks
Thanks for replies.
My aunt told me that I have to bear in mind that we can't always have a wonderful and 'healthy' food in our house. That is like, I should eat whatever is set on the table. She emphasizes that we can't always have wonderful healthy recipes- low fat, low calories, etc. healthy living since most of our foods rely on frying, etc.
Can anyone suggest cheap but easy yet healthy main meals, recipes so I can prove to her that having healthy lifestyle don't hinder lack of money. Even just eating fresh fruits and veggies are a cheap way and one of the steps to a healthy lifestyle isn't?
That's why I volunteered to be the cook for a while instead of my grandma... healthy cooking-simple meals, soups, anything with veggies... any suggestion so far? Good and easy recipe cooking website?
Well, I suppose olive oil is expensive to consider... my grandma used to buy that ordinary cooking oil ( I don't know what's that made out of). Often, we cook our meals and we don't rely on ready food fads out there. However, I think it's a matter of experimenting something new, healthy, and simple cooking without much cost isn't? I often debate this one to my aunt.
I agree with SubJ that low income is conducive with a much healthier lifestyle since most people buy on markets and markets are everywhere (even on the streets) like in 3rd world countries and most of the fresh stuffs just came from farms or even in nearby provinces. Just notice why most Asians are slim... though I am not generalizing- compared to first world countries.
Well, I suppose to be really strict and stick to a really healthy lifestyle adds additional cost and time. I agree that most of the fatty ones makes one full and sometimes it tastes good and more palatable. However, what I am trying to point out here is that fresh is best isn't? That to lead a healthier lifestyle is eating sensibly- knowing what is good to eat or not.
I need help with this one. I gotta write a speech about a healthy lifestyle and it can't be about diet or exercise. Gotta be something else. Good input would help. Thanks.
I am not overweight, but am looking to start living a more healthy lifestyle by changing both my diet and by starting to workout and exercise more. I'm looking for any suggestions about good books that target either or both of these goals. I would love to work on a little muscle building too but most importantly I want to just stay fit and eat right and nutritiously. If anyone can help with this, it is greatly appreciated.
P.S. I am a 19 year old male.
OK, so what i eat comes mostly from my fridge,
which is mostly fries, nuggets, basically unhealthy food..
I want to lead a healthy lifestyle now, so i want to begin with this fridge of mine(lol)..
So any ideas of what foods/fruits etc etc? and also if its cheap or comes in varieties in one packet?..
Sorry if it seems too long..
What are the benefits and factors of a healthy lifestyle?
Starting monday I will take some laxitives to clean out my system, then I will do a liquid diet for a week to get everything bad out of my body, then when the week is over I eat healthy.... Is that a good way to start off a healthy lifestyle?
I consume 3 servings of dairy in the first half of my day, and none later on. Is dairy important to maintain a healthy lifestyle?
If I eat "bad" food and drink alcohol and smoke occassionally how much time does that really take away from my life? Maybe I live to 70 being a pig and a drunkard well how long does the "healthy" person live? Maybe they live to 90. It is not like healthy people live to 200 or something. What is the real incentive for living a healthy lifestyle cuz lets face it, it aint longevity.
Good point Shlomo.
Thanks Ned.
I am trying to adapt a healthy lifestyle. But everytime when I do it, my parents seem to oppose it. When I excercise they mock me. And they want to force me to eat fast-food resturants almost every single day. And when I refuse they get disappointed and they said that I don't appreciate them. So, how can make my parents to be in favor in my healthy lifestyle?
I'm trying have a healthy lifestyle and lose weight but i'm finding it hard to commit.

I usually go on a medium intensity run for 60 minutes a day, four to five days a week. In addition, I do a total of at least 150 push ups and sit ups in each work out. I don't consume more than 1500-1600 calories a day. I eat little to no junk food, and take my vitamins. I'm 18, male, and weigh about 164, around 14 to 15 percent body fat. Do I lead a healthy lifestyle? If there are ways to improve, let me know.
